More Import Tax on Gold and Silver, Breaking Rules in Helicopter Deal

Don Mattrick, the company's new chief executive, announced a major reorganization Tuesday that includes the departures of three top executives: chief operating officer David Ko, technology chief Cadir Lee, and chief people officer Colleen McCreary.Mr. Mattrick also announced that he is roughly doubling the number of executives who report directly to him to 13.The changes come less than two months after the company tapped Mr. Mattrick, the former head of Microsoft's Xbox business, to be CEO. He replaced founder Mark Pincus, who remains chairman and chief product officer.The announcement marks yet another turn of the company's revolving door.

Zynga has had a tumultuous year, marked by underwhelming financial results, layoffs and a painful transition to mobile. During the last earnings call, Mr. Ko described Zynga's performance as “unacceptable.”Under the new changes, Mr. Lee's role will be split between Nick Tornow, who will now have the title of chief technology officer, and Dorion Carroll, the company's information chief.Zynga didn't announce any plans to replace Mr. Ko or hire a new chief operating officer. He was promoted to that position in November.As part of the shuffle, Steve Chiang, formerly the president of games, will have a reduced role.

Mr. Chiang will be an executive vice president of games, focused on many of Zynga's “Ville” games, but not the popular “FarmVille” franchise.According to Zynga, Mssrs. Ko and Lee and Ms. McCreary will leave the company after this week. The departing executives didn't respond to requests for comment. All three were widely seen as close lieutenants of Mr. Pincus.Mr. Lee, who co-founded an earlier start-up, SupportSoft, with Mr. Pincus, received his job offer during Mr. Pincus' wedding in 2008.
